There is certainly no shortage of excellent things I love compilation posts on the web (done by lots of great bloggers we love), but we couldn't resist getting in on the fun! We're going to start doing a feature called HIGH FIVE featuring 5 things we each love at the moment & why. Frivilous, enjoyable window shopping. Here goes....

1. Dash Dotter Box Top Sweater by Annie Larson. This Annie Larson sweater is perfect. Mega pattern overload in the best way possible!

2 & 3. Cartoon alligator teeth earrings by Stone & Honey + this blobby pendant by Rah and Rah. I've been on a serious accessories-bender these days. Two things I would love to add to my collection.

4. Takeda Menkiri Knife from Tosho. A Tosho Knife shop opened in my neighbourhood recently. I never knew that I needed a beautiful knife. Now I have something else to save for.

5. Watch by Uniform Wares. I have been lamenting the loss of my watch for a while now (note to self: check pockets before throwing things in the wash). There's something so nice about wearing a watch that no cellphone, ipod or computer screen can replace. I am particularly smitten with this one.

1. Tiny Skulls Ring by Datter Industries. I actually just bought this ring! And I can't wait for it to arrive and adorn my hand with spooky prettiness. I've never worn a ring before. Now is the time.

2. Augustina Blouse from Aritzia. Because if I had to choose a uniform to wear every single day, it would definitely include a denim top.

3. Mini Chateau Duffle by Rennes. I've been looking for a simple, black bag for weeks to no avail. I can only afford this one in my dreams for the time being though. In my dreams it is NO PROBLEM to find a simple black bag without too much hardware. In my dreams they are everywhere.

4. Sunglasses by Karen Walker. So hot right now, eh? It would be awesome to have a really hot pair of sunglasses, but you just know I'd end up breaking them. Still....

5. Sweet Leaf Bikini by Minnow Bathers. This suit is THE BEST. It would easily improve my desire to go swimming in lakes (which is already very high) by at least 50 percent.

SHOP UPDATE: TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7TH!

Heads up! We will be updating our shop on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7TH with the very last items from our current collection. We had a little bit of grey and mint leather left over, so we decided to make a few extra items! And for all the blue lovers in the house, there will be 1 very special electric blue number in there too (experiments).

Don't the mint ones with black triangles kind of remind you of mint chocolate chip ice cream?

For anyone who has inquired/been wondering, we are sold out of the pink on white designs. But we do plan on carrying that colour combo over into our spring collection, so there are more coming! We plan on releasing the spring collection in March (date tba). We are both so excited to get down to work on that.

Other Stuff:

Danielle and I recently answered some questions for the lovely people at Line A Journal. It's a gorgeous site - check it out here! You will find out some very important info if your read through. Like how Danielle's got a thing for 80's sci-fi, and I enjoy playing racing video games.

We also contributed to The Shiny Squirrel's awesome A Few Things I Love series here. Bring on the pink skies, floppy shirts, weirdo mugs, and 3 headed horsewomen.

What! Check out the amazing drawing Leah Goren (illustrator/textile designer/maker of cool stuff) did featuring her new pink triangles clutch. Shoulders were freed. And I think we can all agree that a big chocolate chip cookie would be great....right...this...minute. Check out her site & buy all her stuff.

Hey! Big time thank yous for all the kind, enthusiastic reactions to our shop launch. Thank you for adopting clutches, pouches, and change purses! And thank you to our friends (old & new) who helped spread the word. We appreciate it SO MUCH. As Danielle and I sat behind computers at our respective day jobs last week, we were both thrilled/anxious/excited/shocked to see orders roll in from all over the place. We're feeling inspired, guys.

Something we definitely learned? More HOT PINK in the future.

THINGS:

- A couple of our clutches appear in the Winter Adventures issue of Standard Magazine. Who doesn't want to go on an adventure? I do. Right now. Today please!

- One of our wallet pouches also landed in this Flare Magazine shopping story about springtime purples. You know, alongside Gucci/Topshop/Rag & Bone/etc. Seems about right, ha....

Thank you for the blog shout outs: Where The Lovely Things Are, Miss Moss, Forestbound, Shiny Squirrel, That Kind Of Woman, Eyes Of Ab, A Little Sojourn, White Tapestry, Gumptiondiy, Peachy Flamingo, Anabundance, IndieTO! And we're pretty excited to see pics of our packages arriving safely on doorsteps via @forestbound, @Abneal, and @leahreenagoren too.

- We've taken down all the sold out items from our shop to make it a little easier to navigate! Lots of little guys are still up for adoption though, looking for awesome forever homes. They've had all their shots, they've been trained, and they want to come home with you. We're pretty sure that leather has aromatherapy benefits too, right? Lastly, Danielle and I went leather shopping this week! A collection of spring stuff is officially in the works. And we're scheming on a couple other special little projects too. We've got some pretty wild colours to work with over here from our neighbourhood leather depot. Pow!

IN BUSINESS.

Today is the day! Our online shop is officially OPEN FOR BUSINESS. Our new collection is a combination of some of our favourite colours and prints. We hope you dig them as much as we do! There aren't too many doubles in this collection either - though some of the patterns and colour combinations are repeated, there are a bunch of unique items in different sizes. Because of the unique nature of our items, listing them ALL in a shop required a little creativity to avoid so many individual listings. Click on each listing in our shop for 3 different pattern options, all grouped together by the base leather colour and type of item (clutch, pouch, etc). There is definitely more in there that first meets the eye.....

These three photos above are from our new lookbook! Click HERE to check out the whole thing on our new site. We couldn't have pulled this off without the amazing help of our good friends Tim Smith (photographer extrordinaire) and Shayna Stevenson (gorgeous lady). Doing a photoshoot like this was a whole new experience for us, and we're both so happy with how things turned out.

After we finished taking pictures we ate a lot of Taco Doritos, ordered pizza, and watched Twins. The perfect end to any workday.

CUT. PRINT. SEW. SNAP.

Working up a storm in preparation for our shop launch on Monday! Danielle is sew-sew-sewing away and adding hardware (with our new snap setter!). I am splashing our name all over stuff as well as printing some packaging (those are layered up test prints up there AKA wrapping paper?) and neon mailers. Blood (literally - as you can see from the gorgeous bandaid pic above!), sweat, and tears (well, not tears yet - but anything can happen, right?) are going into these guys! And this weekend we'll be doing a photoshoot with the help of our awesome pals Shayna (model babe) and Tim (camera man). Did I use enough brackets in this post? YES.

We had a really great time at City Of Craft this past weekend! Thank you so much to everyone who swung by our table as we drank a million cups of coffee and tried to gracefully stuff poutine in our mouths. We can't believe how many of our little guys were adopted!

It's back to the sewing machine/printing dungeon for us. Because we sold more than we had anticipated, we'll be delaying our online shop opening to mid-January so we can focus on putting together a neat collection of goods. Your invite to the ribbon cutting ceremony, with an endless supply of expensive champagne and chocolate covered pretzels, is in the mail (not really, but that would be awesome, right? Let's pretend.). We're pretty pumped to get working on FALCONWRIGHT 2012. In the meantime, check out Danielle why-so-serious Wright with that cat mask on. Meow.

Hey Torontonians, need something to do this weekend? Check out City Of Craft. We've been working up a storm this week to re-stock our collection of change purses and pouches for it! Thank you so much to anyone who stopped by our table at A Handmade Holiday last weekend and picked up a gift for a friend or a treat for themselves. This weekend we'll have a super limited number of bigger clutches (4 gorgeous grey ones!) and a slew of new change purses. Some of these change purses will have GOLD PRINTING too. How regal.

HEADS (& WRISTS) UP!

Are you in need of a headband to tame those bangs you're trying to grow out (again)? Is your naked wrist itching for a bracelet to adorn itself with? If so, we've also got headbands and bangles! The headbands have pretty brass findings at the back, and the bangles are wrapped in waxed linen thread for a pop of colour. Unlike the pouches and clutches, these guys are done in thicker (non reclaimed) leather.

We're looking forward to launching our online shop in the next couple of weeks, but in the meantime we're pumped to unleash these guys this weekend at A Handmade Holiday!

THE TIME HAS COME.

Introducing Falconwright - a collaboration between Sandi Falconer and Danielle Wright (more info about us in the post below). All items are made from re-claimed leather in Toronto, and each one is unique.

This is a peek at our first collection of small leather goods: clutches, change purses, and a few more things on the way! Eventually we might expand our horizons to larger items, but for now you can rest assured knowing that you'll never lose change to the bottom of your bag again. We're still making things and taking care of details, but we're pumped to have stuff at two upcoming events: A Handmade Holiday & City Of Craft! Find FW stuff split between each of our respective tables (Deadweight & Caboto). After the holiday fair season ends, we plan on setting up a shop for all you out of town web surfers in the house too.

We'll continue to blog about what we're making, our process (making messes), events we might be participating in, and maybe even things we both like (like mustard and pretzels, or cool shit we see on the web and wish we could buy?). Thanks for checking this out!

MEET FALCONWRIGHT.

Falconwright is a collaboration between Sandi Falconer & Danielle Wright. See how our last names combine to form one singular handle full of medieval mystery? This is a photo of Danielle and I on Halloween. If it's not obvious, we have a great time together, so it was only a matter of time before we extended that relationship to making stuff.

Outside of this frightening pumpkin/ghost union, Danielle makes leather goods and gorgeous necklaces (Caboto) and I design and screen print a variety of paper goods (Deadweight). And now we've joined forces to bring you a line of handmade screen printed leather goods! The cat is officially out of the bag. Meow.
